1

Copy the URL

Keep the Ellie connector URL ready. Claude uses it to discover Ellie's available tools.

2

Add a connector

In Claude, open Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector. Name it Ellie, paste the URL, and leave advanced OAuth fields blank.

3

Connect and choose access

Sign in to Ellie, then choose Read only or Read and organize. Your approved scope is enforced on every tool call.

Client availability can depend on product version, plan, and workspace policy. Ellie uses OAuth and only exposes tools allowed by the access level you approve.

How it works

Ask naturally. Ellie brings the source.

Your assistant calls Ellie only when your question needs your personal library.

Ellie result

Your focus saves repeat three ideas.

  • Use one consistent sensory cue to start deep work.
  • Make the first session short enough to begin reliably.
  • Reduce decisions by defining the next action in advance.

Each point stays connected to the Ellie saves it came from.

Capabilities

The useful parts of Ellie, available on demand.

The live catalog is derived from your approved scope, so a Read only connection never receives write tools.

Search your library

Find saved videos and links by topic, phrase, creator, date, tag, or folder.

Read source context

Bring in summaries, takeaways, captions, and transcripts when they are available.

Browse recent saves

Review what you kept this week or pull together content from a particular creator.

Explore organization

List and inspect folders and tags without changing the underlying library.

Aa

Find notes and memory

Use your Ellie notes and account-scoped memory documents as context.

Organize, with permission

With Read and organize, file saves, edit user-owned details, manage notes, and undo supported changes.

You stay in control

Choose the access that fits the task.

Read only

Best for research and synthesis.

  • Search and read your Ellie library.
  • Browse folders, tags, saves, notes, and memory.
  • No organization or editing tools are exposed.

Read and organize

Best when you want your assistant to help maintain Ellie.

  • Includes all Read only capabilities.
  • Adds reversible organization, user-owned edits, and note tools.
  • Still runs as your signed-in account under database access controls.

MCP FAQ

Before you connect.

No connection is shared by default. Each MCP request runs as the Ellie account that completed OAuth, under account-scoped database rules. Only connect assistants and workspaces you trust.

It can be. Read only is a selectable and enforced consent mode. A separate Read and organize option adds reversible organization, user-owned edits, and note-writing tools.

Ellie provides a remote MCP endpoint for compatible clients. Claude and ChatGPT setup guides are included here; availability and menu locations can vary by client version, plan, and workspace policy.

Yes. Disconnect Ellie from the AI client and manage connector access from Ellie. A disconnected client can no longer call Ellie tools with that grant.
